NY SNOWBOARD PROMO

The winter season has come and gone this year, but a few Yuengling snowboards still remain. The Yuengling team in New York was at an account named Lock, Stock & Barrel on March 21st. Yuengling was there from 4-8pm to give away the snowboard that had been on display for the past few weeks. There were also giveaways that included winter hats, tee shirts, and cozies. Many patrons came to the promo after a long day of skiing at The Bristol Mountain Ski Resort, located just up the road. When the mountain closed at 4, the bar got crowded and it was time for the fun to begin.

Billy Parker provided the entertainment for the evening. He is a very talented musician, and used to tour with the Marshall Tucker Band. Patrons enjoyed the music along with $3.00 Lager pints. Thank you to Billy for your support of the Yuengling brands, and thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate the end of the winter season with Yuengling at this event.

RIDGE ROAD INN

The local Yuengling team here in Schuylkill County was out in Klingerstown, PA for a promotion at The Ridge Road Inn. The bar featured some great deals on many Yuengling products all day long. Featured products included $1.25 bottles of Lager, Light Lager, Premium, and Premium Light as well as the special price of $2.22 for 22 ounce Lager bomber bottles. The band started at 10pm and so did the Yuengling giveaways. The band, Juiced, put on a great show for the crowd of more than a hundred people. There were some lucky Yuengling drinkers who walked away with Yuengling basketball gear from this year’s March Madness program. Prizes included tee shirts, basketballs, and a Yuengling basketball jersey. Thanks to everyone who came out to Ridge Road to spend the evening with Yuengling.

SC BOCK ARTICLE

What does Yuengling Bock Beer taste like?

If you are still asking this question, you may still be able to find it in your local market, but not for long. The Bock season is coming to an end. It was a tremendously successful run and the feedback from consumers and retailers alike was excellent. To answer the question above, you can read an article that appeared on independentmail.com. Jake Grove wrote the article for the South Carolina based publication and he does an excellent job describing the Bock Beer in detail.

SHADOWBROOK BEER FEST

Beer festivals are a great opportunity for beer lovers to come together and celebrate. Festivals give beer enthusiasts the chance to branch out from their usual brews and try new and different products. For the brewery, festivals are a great opportunity to sample products from Yuengling that consumers may not be aware of, or have never tried. With the addition of the seasonal Bock Beer this spring, there are now eight products in our portfolio, each with its own unique character and taste. Typically at beer festivals we showcase Chesterfield Ale, Porter, and Light Lager.

We were at the 5th Annual Shadowbrook Beer Festival in Tunkhannock, PA a few weeks ago and it was huge success and a great time! The festival consisted of one session that lasted four hours. There was a good turn out, with 1200 people attending the event. The Yuengling booth was busy all day long, as attendees were buzzing about the new Bock Beer. The half barrel of Bock that was brought for sampling was empty in three hours! The other choices at the Yuengling booth were Ale, Porter, and Light Lager, as mentioned above. The buzz about the Bock continued after the event, as our wholesale partner, United Beverage of NEPA, received multiple phone calls on Monday morning from Yuengling fans who wanted to find out where the product was available locally.

Thank you to John Walsh and Kevin Macaluso from United Beverage for making this another successful festival for Yuengling.

NEW FILLER

Employees at the Pottsville brewery have been busy installing some new equipment in the bottle shop. In February, the bottle filler at the Pottsville brewery was replaced with a newer Crown 60 Spout Quart Filler. The new machine is capable of filling 600 twelve ounce bottles per minute. It is fully automatic and brings safety improvements with new guards in place to protect the operator. The machine will also automatically shut down if it senses problems with the fill levels. These features will ensure a safe working environment with consistent quality fills for our bottles. The installation was a massive project, as the bottle filler is in the center of the shop, surrounded by a maze of conveyors that send and receive the bottles. The old machine was in service since 1981 and was in working condition when it was retired this February. Thank you to everyone involved with this project, for making it a success from start to finish.

A DESTINATION BREWERY

Now that you have seen the pictures from the installation of the new filler, come out and see it in person! Delaware Online published an excellent article written by Gary Soulsman of The News Journal titled "A Destination Brewery." The article details what it is like visiting Yuengling and touring the historic plant. There are some great photos, shot by Jennifer Corbett, on the page as well.

TULLY'S MARCH MADNESS

The Yuengling team was out in the New York market to join in the excitement that March Madness brings to our on-premise accounts. We were at Tully’s Restaurant in Rochester. Tully’s is a sports bar chain that has nine locations throughout Western and Central New York. We brought some neat Yuengling basketball gear to give out to fans that were out enjoying the games. This year’s basketball program featured a large bracket for bars to keep track of the tournament results and a wall mounted basketball game for the patrons to enjoy. Giveaway items included a red, white, and blue basketball, tee shirts, hats, and even a jersey! On this particular evening, patrons enjoyed 22oz Lager drafts for the feature price of $4.00. They also had the chance to win some of the gear described above. Thank you to our wholesale partner Wright Wisner for doing such a great job supporting the Rochester, NY area. Thanks to everyone who came out to this event. You can visit Tully's website at: http://www.tullysgoodtimes.com/. Enjoy the pictures below.
